Pressure swing adsorption gas separation technology is used to separate oxygen from compressed air. The main components include adsorbent vessels, equalization tank, switching valves, PLC and oxygen analyzer. The adsorbent vessel filled with Zeolite preferentially adsorbs Nitrogen and CO2, while due to the large size of the O2 molecule it is not adsorbed by the Zeolite and passes through the absorber to the feeder vessels.
Based on the prescribed time interval, the online adsorber switches to regeneration mode and the adsorbed gas from the Zeolite is vented to the atmosphere. During this process the oxygen analyzer monitors the oxygen concentration and allows the storage of oxygen gas. If the oxygen concentration is lower than the preset value, the PLC changes the venting value and purges the oxygen gas until it reaches the required purity level.
